Wild swans return to NW China city for winter

Dozens of wild swans, which stayed in a grassland in the northwest of China’s far western region of Xinjiang during the summer, are returning to a nearby city in the same region for winter.

The migratory birds usually fly to southern China during the winter, but due to protective measures taken by the local government in Korla, an increasing number of swans are flying to a river in the city for the winter months.
