New Zealand has taken the first step toward changing the country’s flag after a public referendum to choose an alternate design. The current flag was adopted 113 years ago and has a Union Jack to reflect the country’s British heritage. But New Zealanders now have to decide whether they want to replace it with the new design which features a silver fern. Our correspondent Owen Poland has more from Auckland.
