A baby girl has been brought into the world on the tarmac of Weifang airport, with the help and love of airport staff. A pregnant woman began showing signs of impending birth as she climbed down the steps from a plane that arrived in Weifang from Beijing on Monday.
Several on-duty doctors rushed to help the woman give birth. To make her more comfortable, staff brought a wheelchair and provided blankets. The woman then gave birth to a baby girl while lying in the shadow of an aircraft, but the doctor didn’t cut her umbilical cord because of safety concerns. The mother was soon taken to a local hospital to have the umbilical cord cut – both the mother and little girl are reportedly healthy.
