A Chinese woman has rescued a toddler who fell through the window railing, by scaling the façade of an apartment building.
The 3-year-old girl was left dangling by her arms after appearing to have fallen through fifth-floor rails in Huizhou City, south China’s Guangdong Province.
Chen Xiaoli, who lives nearby, came downstairs after she heard about the incident.
Knowing that the girl was at home by herself, Chen climbed up the façade of the building, by clinging to window railings with bare hands.
She was not able to come close enough to rescue the toddler.
But when she came near, the 28-year-old supported the girl with her arms, and stood on the roof of a window for nearly an hour before firefighters saved the toddler from the precarious position.
Chen fainted almost immediately when she herself was rescued. Neither Chen or the girl was injured.
