Today is World ALS Day. Two years ago, the Ice Bucket Challenge drew global attention to the people suffering from this rare disease. ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Doctors say the average life expectancy for diagnosed patients is three to five years. And there is no cure. Two ALS patients tell us their stories.
