World Autism Awareness Day: Music opens another door for autistic kids

April 2 marks World Autism Awareness Day. A group of volunteers in Beijing are using music to bring some autistic kids out of isolation. By setting up a band for people with autism, the volunteers help the kids to communicate with others through the weapon of music. Wang Yupu, 19, is a member of the band. He travels from Tianjin to Beijing every week for group practice. For him, playing the drums is a way to express his feelings and encourages him to communicate with others.
