World Bank approves $1.5 BLN loan for toilets in India

According to World Bank estimates, of the 2.4 billion people who lack access to improved sanitation globally, more than 750 million live in India.

Now, the World Bank has approved a 1.5-billion-U.S. dollars loan for India’s sanitation programme, which could give the country an opportunity to tackle its sanitation woes.

It is a common scene in India to see people relieving themselves in the open.
