The decks of the 55-kilometer Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) were fully connected on Tuesday. Branded as “the Mount Qomolangma of bridges,” the crossing is the world’s longest cross-sea bridge. Construction started on the project back in 2009. The sea-crossing bridge connects the three biggest cities in the Pearl River Delta region, namely Hong Kong, Macao, and Zhuhai. After the bridge opens, passengers will be able to drive through two special administrative regions and the Mainland in less than half an hour. CCTV’s Wu Lei has more from the construction site.
