WTO: Trade growth to remain stagnant in 2016

The World Trade Organization (WTO) expects growth in the volume of world trade to remain sluggish in 2016 at 2.8 percent, unchanged from 2015. In its latest forecasts, the organization predicted global trade growth will rise to 3.6 percent in 2017 due to higher imports in Asia. However, it also indicated risks are tilting to the downside, including further slowing in emerging economies and financial volatility.
