Xi, Putin meet at G20 summit

On the sidelines of the ongoing G20 summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

Both sides have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing extensive cooperation between their two countries.

The two leaders pledged to deepen cooperation within the framework of the emerging-market bloc of BRICS and in a wide range of areas, such as politics, economy, trade, finance, energy and culture.

They renewed their consensus on aligning China’s Silk Road Economic Belt with the Russia-initiated Eurasian Economic Union.
