Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi’s online store in Brazil crashed on its launch day Tuesday due to the large amount of buyers on the site.
Many were trying to purchase Xiaomi’s star budget model, the “Redmi 2”. The phone was officially put on sale at noon on Tuesday.
The first batch was only available for consumers who were able to reserve one online. But the number of buyers trying to visit the website increased so rapidly, the online store was immediately overloaded.
It returned to normal one and half an hours later.
