Yao Ming leads calls for Chinese Basketball Association reforms

Basketball legend Yao Ming is leading calls for reforms to the country’s Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), with proposals to privatize the league. Officials from the CBA met to discuss Yao’s proposals in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province on Saturday. NBA Hall of Famer Yao Ming has proposed that a company called the Chinese Professional Basketball Alliance (CPBA) is set up to take management of the CBA. The company would be led by Yao Ming and 18 of the teams that make up the league.
