Lebanon’s outgoing Prime Minister Saad Hariri said the country urgently needs a new government to stop a cycle of collapse and worsening economic and security conditions. His remarks came after politicians failed to agree on a government or an economic rescue plan. The Lebanese capital was rocked by violent protests over the weekend, with nearly 400 people injured. Protests started in October over Lebanon’s worsening economic crisis. Hariri was forced to resign not long afterwards.
